This article outlines how to set your preferred platform language and video captions for your Big Think+ account.
1. Locate the Language Menu
- Go to the top right corner of any Big Think+ page.
- You’ll see a globe icon 🌐 next to a two-letter label that indicates your current language (e.g., “EN” for English).
2. Open the Language Menu
- Click the language button to open a drop-down menu labeled “Languages.”
- This menu shows all available full platform translations.
- Selecting a language here will:
- Translate the entire platform interface.
- Set your default captions language for videos.
3. Choose Your Platform Language
- Click on the language you want.
- The platform will automatically reload in your selected language.
- Any Learner Guides and Discussion Guides will also be downloaded in your chosen language.
4. Adjust Video Captions Separately (Optional)
- While watching a video, click the settings gear ⚙️ in the video player.
- Under “Captions”, you can choose from all 25 available languages — even those not included in the platform-wide language list.
- If you change captions here, it will override the captions language set in the main language menu.
- Note: This change affects captions only; the platform language will not update.
