What is the Curations feature in Big Think+?

This article explains what curations are, how they work, and why they’re a valuable tool for anyone supporting learners.

Curations are customized collections of Big Think+ content that can include video lessons, expert classes, courses, or learning paths. They allow you to bring together related content into a single, shareable experience.

Why does Big Think+ offer Curations?

Curations were designed to support flexible, purpose-driven learning across your organization. Whether you're leading a team or learning on your own, curations help you:

  • Organize a learner's journey through multiple content types
  • Group content into themed sections for easier navigation
  • Save content for later as a learner or curator
  • Share curated learning experiences with others

At their core, curations give you control over what content to spotlight and how to structure it — making learning more intentional, relevant, and scalable.

Who manages Curations?

While all users can create curations and share them with others via a link, only users with the “Manage Curations” permission can publish a curation.

  • This permission is typically granted to Learning Managers, program leads, or team managers, but may also be available to learners depending on your organization’s setup.
  • All curations created by users with the "Manage Curations" permission will appear in the Analytics Dashboard, regardless of whether they are published, unpublished, or archived.

Where can I find Curations?

You can access the Curations feature by clicking on the Curations tab on the top right of any Big Think+ page.

What content types are supported in Curations?

You can add the following content to any curation:

  • Video Lessons: Short-form content featuring individual expert insights on a single topic.
  • Expert Classes: Deeper learning experiences built around a single expert or theme.
  • Learning Paths: Pre-built, multi-part journeys curated by Big Think+.
  • Courses: Structured programs that include lessons, reflections, missions, and assessments.

There’s no limit to the number of items you can include in a curation, and you can mix formats freely.

What can I use Curations for?

Use curations to:

  • Build onboarding or development programs
  • Reinforce skills with focused learning campaigns
  • Save and structure content you want to explore over time
  • Share hand-picked learning paths with your team or peers
